Burt Silverman Bio

Born in Brooklyn New York, 1928 painter Burton Silverman received a BA from Columbia College and studied at the Art Students League and Pratt Institute He has taught at the School of Visual Arts, the Art Students League. The National Academy School of Fine Arts, the Academy of Art University in San Francisco  the Brigham Young School of Fine Arts and was Smith Distinguished Visiting Professor at the George Washington University in Washington DC. He is represented here in New York at the Gallery Henoch and in Denver, CO at the Gallery 1261

Recent exhibitions include retrospectives at the Butler Institute of American Art, the Brigham Young Museum of Art, and the Sherwin Miller Museum, Tulsa OK, and the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts University, also the National Portrait Gallery, the Montgomery Museum of Art, the Delaware Art Museum, the Warner Westervelt Museum, AL, Frey Norris Gallery.
