Tim Huhn Bio
Tim Huhn began his fine are career in the summer of 1998 with a number of paintings and prints featuring The Fat Cow (Sweet Pea to her friends) in many of the Central Coast’s most famous places. While these well received works continue to sell (and bring smiles!) this talented artist has begun a new series of works capturing the beauty of California.
Huhn’s extraordinary ability has moved him to the forefront as a premier photo realist painter, and has allowed him to showcase the timeless grace of the San Luis Obispo and San Miguel missions as well as many other locations in and around California. His unique style, executed in acrylics and oil, combine a meticulous attention to detail with a distressed finish to achieve a look which is both bold and subtle, making his original works and limited edition prints much in demand by collectors across the country.
“I have long been fascinated by the interplay of light and shadow in what I view around me. I think the quicksilver qualities of illumination are endlessly fascinating. This latest series of works has allowed me to explore new visual themes, which I hope will encourage the viewer to observe with a fresh eye the beauty all about us.”
Born in Washington in 1954, Huhn grew up in a small beach-side community near Seattle. He graduated in 1977 from the prestigious California College of Arts and Crafts with a bachelors degree in Fine Art and a major in illustration. Working as a freelance commercial artist in Southern California, Disney, Universal Studios, Sony, and Mattel are just a short list of well-known clients. He now resides happily along California’s beautiful Central Coast.
