Sam Emler Bio

Samuel W. Emler received his Master of Fine Arts at The New York Academy of Art. He also studied at The School of Visual Arts, where he obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts. He won two awards from The Society of Illustrators in 1994 & 1995; one award from The Art Directors Club in 1995; first prize Long Island Art Gallery in 1996; two grants from The Starlight Foundation for his continued mural work in 1997 & 1998; and his work has been featured on New York 1 News, and Suffolk Life.

He has worked as a freelance artist painting landscapes, figurative art, and murals both locally and abroad for private commission and privately sponsored institutional work. Samuel has also worked as an assistant teacher at The Poli Moda, Florence, Italy; 1999, 2000, 2001.

He is represented by Just Looking Gallery in West Hartford, Connecticut, and Chrysalis Gallery in South Hampton, New York.
